Our dear friends,

The National Leaders’ Conference is fast approaching, and with it the opportunity to gather as family together in Nottingham.

Time to break out...

The Lord appears to be moving across our land, with stories of healings, salvation and powerful testimony rippling throughout our churches.  It’s very exciting to hear stories of people ‘getting out there’ as ambassadors of Christ, and making a real difference in their communities!

With our desire to go with what the Lord is doing, our conference this year is entitled ‘Breakout’.

Family time together

Alongside our time together worshipping, catching up with old friends and making new ones, we have a line-up of speakers who have much to offer us as a movement.

Away from the main sessions, there will be a selection of seminars to encourage, train and address the issues that we, as leaders, all face.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the conference in January.

Speakers

We are delighted to be joined by some of our friends, from across the Vineyard movement and beyond, to speak to us this year.

Jay Pathak

Jay Pathak and his wife Danielle left Columbus, Ohio in 2001 to start and lead the Mile High Vineyard in Denver, Colorado. Since that time, Jay and his team have worked to build the church into a vibrant community that engages and impacts the city at every turn. Jay has spoken nationally and internationally in both conference and classroom settings, and he serves as member of Vineyard USA’s Executive Team. He has worked with Carl Medearis to create the Engage video series  – a seven-week course designed to create space to discuss the person and teachings of Jesus in an non-threatening environment, and he co-authored the recently released book, The Art of Neighboring, with Dave Runyon.

Mike Pilavachi

Mike Pilavachi heads up Soul Survivor ministries (a charity that aims to equip young people to live their lives for Jesus) as well as pastoring the associated church – Soul Survivor Watford. Mike speaks at conferences around the world, trying to make people laugh and point them towards Jesus at the same time. He has written a number of books, the latest which looks at themes within the Bible. Mike enjoys cooking, watching The West Wing, tending his grape vines and competing with his mates over anything he can.

Steve Nicholson

Steve Nicholson began ministering as a college student through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the early 1970s. After graduation, he moved to the Chicago area where he and several other twenty-something leaders founded a church. That fellowship, begun in 1976 in Evanston, Illinois, placed a high priority on contemporary worship, biblical teaching, openness to the Holy Spirit, and committed relationships as a church family.

In 1981, Steve and a team from the fellowship established a new church in Humboldt Park, a neighborhood in Chicago’s inner city. Both churches joined the Vineyard USA in August of 1985, and Steve transferred leadership of the Humboldt Park Vineyard to one of his team members in 1986.

The Evanston Vineyard has since planted nine other congregations in the Chicago area, and another fifteen in other cities or countries. Steve led the Vineyard USA’s church planting task force for over twenty years. Steve has ministered to and trained church leaders in India, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Turkey, Lebanon, Brazil, Chile and several Central Asian countries as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Steve and his wife, Cindy, live in Chicago. They have three adult children.

Debby Wright

Debby Wright leads Trent Vineyard in Nottingham with her husband John. Trent Vineyard is a large vibrant church known for being outward focused and compassion driven – they are committed to church planting and have planted churches all over the UK. Debby grew up in Chile during military coups and earthquakes. Upon returning to England she was part of St Andrew's Chorleywood where she first encountered John Wimber, and later trained under John Wimber in the Anaheim Vineyard (USA).  John and Debby helped start the first Vineyard in Europe, before going on to plant Trent Vineyard.  She has two grown-up sons, a fabulous daughter-in-law and at least 25 pairs of shoes.

John and Eleanor Mumford

John and Eleanor Mumford are the National Leaders of the Vineyard movement in the United Kingdom & Ireland. Having studied theology at St Andrews and at Cambridge, John married Eleanor in 1978 and they have two sons. They worked for nearly two years with John Wimber on the staff of the Anaheim Vineyard in California before planting the SW London Vineyard in 1987. They handed over the leadership of that church in 2008 in order to concentrate more upon the oversight and development of the movement, both nationally and internationally.
